Chickens are just silly, so I bet anything you say to them just befuddles their little brains.
I talk to my animals all the time, even the little squirrel who comes to get peanuts. My mil used to roll her eyes and say, "my daughter-in-law talks to squirrels!"
I'm 52, so if I ever had wings, they are long gone. But I truly do believe animals will talk if we will listen hard enough--not in words, but in something like feelings. So you keep on talking...trust me, they may not respond, but animals hear you just fine.

Tevis, you sound just like my Daughter, Taylor Anne - you might be bosom buddies... she spends her free time in the yard talking with the caterpillars, and singing to the trees. She flits around just like a fairy... she doens't have wings though either.
