Jill–Hope you have fun making the matching aprons! When I made a child’s apron I only put button holes at the bottom corners, not at the middle of the bottom as I did on the tutorial. This seems to work fine (especially with the shorter apron), and with only two button holes to attach, I think the buttons at the waist would be a great idea! I may have to try that myself next time around . Hope that helps.

I want to make matching gathering aprons for my four year old daughter & I. I have a question on the tutorial. My daughter can’t tie yet so my question is this, do you think that two buttons placed at the center of the waist where you have your ties would work? I can always just tie it for her but I like her to be independent as much as possible and she can do buttons. Thanks for the help and the wonderful tutorial!

February 26th in the middle of a long cold winter. But of course the weather should be unseasonably warm on the day of her birth that’s something everyone would always remember.
I was thrilled to see the giveaway. I had just posted on my blog that I wanted to make the gathering apron and put a link to the tutorial. Then I discovered the giveaway.

I think that she should have the birth date of October 29th! Why? Because for one it’s my darling daughters birthday and she is a HOOT for a 4 year old!! It is also a start off of the holiday’s in our house. We call the 29th, 30th (DH birthday), and the 31st birthday ween bash. This to us is the official beginning of the holidays and is a great time of year!!

Why not celebrate her birthday on the 4th of July! That way she can always have a parade and fireworks for her birthday. Lots of picnics and BBQ’s also that she can pretend is in honor of her.

Hmmmm. Those are hard ones to follow, but I suggest June 21st–the longest day of the year so she can celebrate as long as possible!
